Egyptian Bronze Harpocrates, Ptolemaic to Roman Period, ca. 100 BC The piece is a wonderful example of an Egyptian god rendered in a classical form. It depicts the infant Harpocrates modeled on the body of a cupid with the Egyptian crown and side-lock. Black patina. Ex Midwest Collection. Purchased from Maison des Arts, Cairo, Egypt in March of 1963. H. 1 3/4" (4.4 cm).
